Brian Earn received his PhD from the University of Toronto and was Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Guelph until his retirement in 2008. He was the founding director of the University of Guelph Centre for Studies in Leadership and served as the Acting Associate Dean of both the Faculty of Management and the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences. In addition he was responsible for the implementation of the Distance Learning Masters in Leadership program at the University of Guelph.
His expertise includes: strategies for evaluating the effects of training; leadership development; the measurement of organizational culture; current trends in Chinese business leadership; measurement of employee morale and job satisfaction; privacy in the workplace; the behavioral impact of work environments; analysis of the unique organizational features of public and not-for-profit organizations; and the development of distance learning programs. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association and has published two books and numerous articles in professional journals. In his consulting practice his clients have included CIBC, Deloitte Touche, Dexit, TD Canada Trust, Health Canada, Ontario Power Generation and Rogers Communication.
